Sikandar Shah Lodi (AD 1488-1517; AH 894-923), Gold, 11.29 g, Tanka, mintless but minted at the Capital Agra, legend on obv reads al-mutawakkil ala’l rahman sikndar shah bahlul shah sultan on obv, and fi-zaman amir al-muminin khaldat khilfatah on rev, dated AH 919 (Rajgor# 1523; G&G# D700). Beautiful decorated border around the central legends on either side, Almost Mint State, 3rd known coin, Great Rarity!
While discussing the gold coins of Sikandar Lodi, Goron & Goenka comment that his gold coins are known from only a couple of coins. This is the third known coin of this later Delhi Sultan and that too of an unreported date making it the first known coin of this date.
