Bombay Presidency, Gwalior Fort Mint, Silver Rupee, 11.05 g, in the name of Shah Alam II, RY 47; an inverted British sword as mint mark, (EIC Presidency Series 8.123; see Barry Tabore, The Ranas of Gohad and Their Occupations of Gwalior Fort in JONS 196, pg. 32). Very Fine+, Rare. These coins were struck during a short occupation of the East India Company over Gwalior by the British. Most of the coins of this mint are dated RY 46, but coins of RY 47 are extremely rare.
