Mughals, Jahandar Shah, Copper, 21.30 g, Double Paisa, Surat Mint, complete mint name at bottom on reverse, name of the Ruler on obverse, RY Ahad. Very Fine+, probably 1st known coin of the Double Denomination. Usual Paisa coins of Jahandar (KM# 360.7) are found in the weight range of 13.00 to 13.80 gram. However, this is a heavier coin of nearly 22 grams in circulation state with all wear and tear from circulation. In all probability multiple denominations by this time were in heavy weight like this coin and not necessarily double the usual weight. Multi-denominations are exceedingly rare whether in gold, silver, or in copper. A Great Rarity known here for the first time.
